Diane Malloy Featured In #MusicLov3rz June!

Diane Malloy is an artist from the Bronx, NY, who merges the beauty of R&B notes with the spirituality of Gospel messages to advocate for personal freedom through relationship with God.

As a child, the singer sought to source her joy outside of her family as her beginnings in life were tumultuous enough to find the child in foster care. Raised mainly by her wonderful grandmother and aunt, the young voice was heavily encouraged by an exceptional kindergarten teacher who perceived the brilliance in Malloy before anyone else did. Influenced throughout her upbringing by the likes of Lauryn Hill, Brandy, Monica, CeCe Winans, and Lisa McClendon, it is more than noticeable where the affinity for R&B mixed with Gospel derives from.

The church is where Diane Malloy found both comfort and initial success in live performing. From a stellar member of the choir to the youth, and later adult choir director, the songstress saw her first financial earnings as a special guest in other churches as well. When adding the private and public events the singer attended, the total amounts to a staggering 800 plus single-song performances.

Despite a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from Mercy College, Diane Malloy’s passion for music remained & was most accelerated into a final acceptance by the sudden passing of her 29-year-old brother Darryl in 2019. His departure strikingly coincided with the singer’s birthday, but the tragedy later prompted the singer into claiming the day back with positive connotations by releasing music.

After positive reception of her first official single, Please Don’t Go, Diane Malloy’s newest release, Dear God is her most representative song thus far. The single employs heavier R&B stylized vocalizations, and evident pairing between the piano and subtle drums specific to Rhythm and Blues.

We Are The Wave Compilation Album was an idea that I had about two years ago. I had the idea but I didn’t really have the means nor the resources to do it. I was new to networking in CHH and I didn’t have any artists to do the project with. Last year we added a couple new artists and that’s when I realized this project as possible.
