One World 5- It’s The faith that keeps us going

Each and every member of One World 5/was touched by tragedy and called upon the Almighty God to take us through the difficulties and pain we all experienced at that time.

Ruth’ story:

Ruth the lead singer of the song “I can feel” went through a very trying time in her life. With a 12 year old and in a happy relationship her world came crashing down around her. She was betrayed and left all alone to care for her daughter. This left a huge hole in her life that caused her enormous sorrow and pain to a point where she withdrew from society. She was downcast and questioned herself as a person and her personality and wondered why it happened. She went through a time of self pity and disdain towards the perpetrator. The bridge towards light came at a time when she looked at her daughter and realised that she had to fight and find a way to elevate herself above adversity and hatred.

She went on blended knee and opened her soul to God Almighty asking for guidance and strength to move forward in life. It took a lot of faith, it built her spiritual self, her strength was restored and she found the faith inside of her to move forward and face the world again. Her faith moved her into music where she spread the gospel of not just her story, however uses this platform to speak for others going through what she went through. The memories of those dark days will always be with her, however through faith and the blessings of God Almighty, she can face those memories without the hatred and dark feelings she once harboured.

Her message to the readers is that of “ With God all things are possible” prayer and your relationship with God will shine through you for others to see. Hence why the song “ I can feel is such a testament and affirmation that God is love.

Kash’s story,

Co writer and back up singer on “ I can Feel” Kash went through a trying time in her life, where whilst pregnant, her marriage broke down and she was left alone to fend for herself and her new born baby. She experienced a life with a narcissistic person that made her believe that she was the cause of the marital breakdown as narcissists often do. She recoiled into her corner of life away from society and friends. She felt burdened with stress and depression and lost a lot of weight. She to went on bended knee and called upon the Almighty to shine a light on her darkest hour. She called on the Almighty for strength, to wipe away her tears and ease her sorrows. She allowed him into her life to be her guide and saviour. With God in her life she found her days easier to contend with, her spirits were lifting and her problems were not as dire as at first. The Almighty God shared her sorrow and pain and lifted her to freedom from those desolate times. Her faith is her driving force in music and in life. In music she found her life partner who is as spiritual as her and who, himself went through tough times. His story next. Her message to those that are reading this is, “ life does throw you a curve ball, however never give up cause God is on our side” The song I can Feel is affirmation that The Almighty is always at one’s side. Just let him in.

Rod’s story,

Rod Wrote “Lifting me Higher and “I can feel” At the lowest point in life. He thought life was not pleasant and worth all the troubles it offered. Losing someone close to one conjures up negative and depressive emotions. He to called on the Almighty God to guide him through his pain and sorrow.

These songs are his affirmation that the Almighty is his Saviour. “I can feel” is him knowing that The Almighty is right by his side when he needed a friend, comforter as well as consoler keeping him in the hollow of his hand. His life partner Kash came at a time when they both needed each other and called upon the Almighty to heal them. Through music he guided them to each other. “I can feel” was written when they felt that darkness that surrounded them and there seemed no way out. The knowledge that with “God all things are possible” shone a light of hope, care and love, which eventually lifted him higher. They work well together as a group and the sounds on these songs attest to it.
