DEQUANA | SINGER-SONGWRITER

Maryland-native, singer-songwriter, and worship leader, DeQuana is passionate about creating music that exemplifies a Christ-centered and Christ-dedicated life.

In 2017, she landed in the Top 10 for Best Lyrics (nominee status) in the Lyrics-Only competition at the American Songwriting Awards and Hollywood Songwriting Awards. From there, she began to intentionally and intently listen to the Holy Spirit to answer the call of ministry through music.

Like for many, answering the call of ministry wasn't easy. If it wasn't shyness getting in the way, or her other heart desires, DeQuana continually found herself in the pitfall of depression, anger, and confusion. But, having the knowledge of truth within her, she knew she needed to renew her mind so, she picked up her Bible and pen.

Her debut single, "Sweet Liberty", releasing September 2021, is an open letter to her spirit. The more she sang the song, the more the words were her reality and abiding truth. It's her prayer that the single becomes an anthem of truth for anyone battling their flesh versus their spirit.

Additionally, it's her prayer that her music ministry will lead people to Christ and highlight the love and liberty available to them if they seek first the Kingdom of God.

“This song always moves me to tears. Though the lyrics are simplistic, they are a renewing affirmation of truth. I wrote "Sweet Liberty" in April 2021, which may be a shocker to most; but I was very depressed. The song is an open letter to my spirit. My flesh had me captive to my thoughts, manipulated by my emotions, unable to experience God's promises, and unable to recognize the truth that I didn't have to live in captivity because I was already FREE because of Christ Jesus. God's graciousness and tender kindness towards me allowed me to put what I knew to be true in words that would encourage, uplift, and remind me daily about His love and Christ's loving sacrifice. The more I sing the song, the more the words are my reality and abiding truth. It's a song that ministers to the heart of every person that encounters it, and I thank God for the saving grace He has anointed over it.” - DeQuana

#Reggae #Dancehall Artist Blazer Featured in #LOV3RZ December

Blazer was born in the UK, and is from London. He began playing the bass guitar at 13 years old and this inspired Blazer into other aspects of music such as, songwriting and creating tracks using the keyboard. By the age of 23 years old his main inspirations were from Jamaican, UK sound systems. R&B, Hip Hop, Dancehall, Reggae music and Afrobeat.
