Bustabrowne Featured In #MusicLov3rz July!

THE ARTIST Jerry “BustaBrowne” Simmons: Spiritual, musical, diligent, and amusing are just a few words that describe who BustaBrowne is in a “nutshell”. He has been trained at MIW in Chicago and has been under the teachings of Grammy Award Winning producer, Ricco Lumpkins, Engineer and Producer Chuck Kawal, Engineer and Producer Andy Bosnak.
He also furthered his learning in audio and mixing with Stellar Award Nominated producer, Paul “BionicMan” Persley. He was blessed to work or collaborate with artists, songwriters, and producers like BMI and Grammy Award winning songwriter, Saeed Renaud (Fox’s Tv “The Four”) Stellar Nominated music producer, Claude Deuce, Billboard charting, Sean Scales, Stellar Award Nominated artist, Terri Carroll, Arison Walton and POR, Kevin Gray, TSO, Dwayne Coleman, Lehman Gray, Reggie Foster Jr., Brandon Meeks, Howard “HGA” Anderson, Jr., Stellar Award nominated music producer, Terry Garmon, Pharis Evans, and Spotify Chart Topping artist, EJ Jackson.

His Rearview EP was just the start and was the prequel of his first complete album: Rhythm and Repentance (Vol 1) which was released on July 30, 2016. In 2020, BustaBrowne has released two albums during the pandemic. The first one was on his birthday in July called, The Commissioned Remixes: Classics Made New. It is a collection of songs from the Legendary and Award winning group, Commissioned. These songs have a commercial appeal of today’s R&B with a classic feel of the group’s influences. The second album is called, Storms. This album was dedicated to friends and family that have lost their way in Jesus Christ. It is also dedicated to those who lost love one during the pandemic. Both of these albums were created in the span of 4 years.

THE PRODUCER
BustaBrowne learned and developed so much as a producer, starting in 2007 when he met a few colleagues by the names of Jesse Blackmon, Aaron Green, and Stephen Powers. They all formed a media and production company called The Beat Fakulty, LLC. This was a good move for everyone because they all learned different styles of music, mixing techniques, business skills, and becoming better musicians. BustaBrowne found himself learning more and also gaining new long term friends. Due to difficulties in business, in 2009 the Beat Fakulty decided to disband, but on good terms. This moment in life called for a decision to be made and things turned out better than they all hoped for. As BustaBrowne would put it, it is truly a privilege when one has the opportunity to make use of their experiences and skills to help others pursue their goals and dreams in the music industry. It is with this spirit that BustaBrowne created the production company, JerMar Music Group. He hopes his music will not only inspire the youth but empower and encourage them to seek repentance and a change of heart for themselves. He wants to show that music can be a tool to cause people to reflect, that voice to draw attention to the issues but can still promote peace.

THE INFLUENCE
BustaBrowne was influenced by so many greats like the Winans, Commissioned’s, Fred Hammond, and Mitchell Jones as well as some secular artists like Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Al B.Sure, BabyFace, and Boyz II Men. The inspiration started to build when he noticed the writing credits on some of the popular songs he liked kept coming up on the cassettes and cd jackets. Names like Fred Hammond, Mitchell Jones, Quincy Jones, Rod Temperton, and BabyFace. He was so fascinated by how some of the writers and producers were artists too.

THE HISTORY
In 1980, raised in Gary, Indiana BustaBrowne was a boy born who had a dream to be a gospel songwriter, music producer and artist. In 1992, at the age of 12 years old, he began songwriting and found out that he wanted to sing more. He attended Emerson School for the Visual and Performing Arts and was a Visual Arts major. He wanted to be there for vocal but his mother wanted him to get better in drawing because her gift was in Visual Arts. BustaBrowne’s dad was a skilled bass player and sang with many musicians and groups around the Chicagoland churches. There is a great feeling when you find out your music has gotten teens out of gangs and help people through the death of love ones. That is more rewarding than anything. Music is spiritual. Combined that with the power of Jesus Christ and you have a moving force to be reckoned with.

Jordan Faith Featured In #MusicLov3rz September

We Are The Wave Compilation Album was an idea that I had about two years ago. I had the idea but I didn’t really have the means nor the resources to do it. I was new to networking in CHH and I didn’t have any artists to do the project with. Last year we added a couple new artists and that’s when I realized this project as possible. It’s basically an introduction to New Wave Music Group. Also to encourage the youth to let them know they don’t have to be what society tells them to be. They can forge their own path and do something bigger than themselves. I started New Wave to give the average local artist a voice. It’s a diverse team from all over the World. Tairrans my mentor lives in Nashville but was raised in California. I was born in Nigeria but grew up in Nashville. Loic Beatz was born in Ivory Coast and raised in Paris. Jay-Tee was born in Texas but raised In Lincoln. Beau is a d1 athlete that wrestled for Nebraska. Christ-Style grew up in Louisiana. This project is multi genre so...
