Pivotal Awakening Featured In #MusicLov3rz June

“One song, just for fun.” That’s what Pivotal Awakening’s Mindi Odom and Andy Graves thought when they entered the recording studio in September of 2019. Friends on their church worship team for many years, they had agreed to record a new song Andy had written. Their seemingly simple plan was quickly replaced by what they call “God’s amazing plan.”

First came a suggestion from their producer to write more songs together. They decided to let God take them and their music to wherever He wants them to go. The result was an explosion of songwriting that still hasn’t slowed down. And upon the release of their debut song, “Soulblind”, Mindi and Andy were stunned to see it immediately attract an international fan base. The song led to Mindi being voted as a Finalist in the Outstanding Christian Vocalist category in the 2020 Detroit Music Awards.

2020 brought a year of amazing musical experiences, with the team joyfully expressing their faith in God through music. The duo released seven more songs, even amidst the struggles of the covid pandemic. Their work in 2020 again led to reaching the Final Round in the 2021 Detroit Music Awards in the Outstanding Christian Group, Outstanding Christian Songwriters, Outstanding Christian Vocalist, and Outstanding Christian Instrumentalist categories.

May 2021 marks the release of their ninth song, “Praise the Glory.” It is an edgy and emotional Christian rock song based on the experiences of two Bible characters. Can you guess who?

We Are The Wave Compilation Album was an idea that I had about two years ago. I had the idea but I didn’t really have the means nor the resources to do it. I was new to networking in CHH and I didn’t have any artists to do the project with. Last year we added a couple new artists and that’s when I realized this project as possible. It’s basically an introduction to New Wave Music Group. Also to encourage the youth to let them know they don’t have to be what society tells them to be.
