Angela, Latonya, and April are three biological sisters, all saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Spirit. They were born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee and currently reside in their home state. Their parents are Pastor Angelo and First Lady Glendora Beard.
They are members of The Moore's Memorial Church of God in Christ in Memphis, Tennessee where they are faithful to leadership pastored by their father.
Angela and Latonya are both Licensed Evangelists in The Churches of God in Christ Inc.
Growing up, the sisters never set out to be a Gospel Group! They just enjoyed singing! But life circumstances destined them to become artists. The road has not been easy. There have been many disappointments, trials and errors. Every day is not roses and sunshine and many may think when you get up to minister all is well, but many times because of the assignment and the call, we're ministering while going through obstacles, pains and situations. To name a few, imagine having a calendar but NO engagements or still ministering while you're in pain. There was a time when the sisters recall one was ministering with blisters on her feet, another one had stomach issues where she felt as if someone was stabbing her. The other sister was experiencing a migraine to the point she barely could stand. But with God, ice packs (LOL), and other medicines they were able to keep going. Enduring the broken promises but keeping a smile on your face when your heart hurts. What about receiving hundreds of No's because you didn't meet man's standards, but what makes the difference is meeting God's standards. These are just some of the trials one goes through while yet doing the work.
Being an independent artist means that you are responsible for most of what people see. From studio sessions, promotions, marketing, travel, wardrobe, hair, makeup and more. The Beard Sisters often state that God, parents and faithful supporters are how they fund their ministry.
The Sisters share with anyone that wants to make this a part of their life. In that sharing, we ensure that we encourage people to seek God and ensure they’re entering artistry for the right reasons. Make sure you know God for yourself and make sure God knows you.
The journey gets long, hard, and lonely at times but quote” With God and each other we have been able to make it 17 years and prayerfully, we will continue to make it. “
